Whilst studying at The Birmingham Theatre School, Jonathan began hitting the local open mic nights in the West Midlands.


Since then he has continued to hone his act and has played clubs all over the UK, including playing with Jack Whitehall on his "Gets Around" Tour and headlining a weekend of shows in Berlin, December 2019.

In 2019, Jonathan launched his debut solo show "At Least We're Out The House" which was nominated for Best New Show at The Leicester Comedy Festival before hitting the Edinburgh Fringe for a 12 night run.
2022 saw the work of a new WIP show "High Times From The Wasteland" which marked his return after the lockdowns at the Leicester Comedy Festival.
In 2015, Jonathan teamed up with his fellow theatre school graduate, Sam Bellerby, to write and perform an original live sketch show which played at the Edinburgh Festival followed by a nationwide tour.
Jonathan is also an alumni of The Second City in Chicago, having obtained a scholarship to study writing and improvisation in 2017. Upon graduation he launched a string of shows across the US with 18 stand-up dates including; New York, LA and Denver.

2024 saw a full run with "An Evening You Won't Regret..." whilst moving into opening comedy clubs on a regular basis up and down the country. In 2025, he launched a new show "A Star Wars Improv Show - The One-Man Made-Up Movie" which became a sold-out success at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2025. The show is preparing to tour in 2026.
2023 saw Jonathan return to Edinburgh for the first time since 2019 for a full run with his new show "This Needs To Be Delightful" while his follow up show "An Evening You Won't Regret Unless You Don't Like It" was nominated for the Audience Choice Award at the 2024 Leicester Comedy Festival.

In 2024, Jonathan wrote and directed "The Spark of Madness - Celebrating Robin Williams" to mark the 10th anniversary of the legendary comedian's passing. The show gained positive reviews and all the proceeds went to charities that Robin championed.


2025 marked several sold-out shows throughout the year. His performance at the first ever Rik Mayall Comedy Festival in June sold out in a few hours and was met with critical acclaim and garnered enough attention to make his stand-up TV debut.
